The New Year
Well as you can see the new year has been full of fun events! We have been very very busy. In January we started to get back into the swing of things after a very busy Christmas season. In February the youth lead the service on the 8th. They put a lot of hard work into it and it went very well. The youth lead worship, had a skit, and the girls ensemble sang. On the 13th the youth held a fundraiser, inviting the M&M couples for a nice meal away from the kids. On the 21rst and 22nd, the Discipleship Team went to a conference at Champion Forest Baptist Church. The guest speaker was Francis Chan and the worship leader was Kristian Stanfill. If you haven't allready, please ask the youth who attended about this experience. It was a wonderufl wake-up call about the God we serve. In March we were busy with the Spring Yard Sale. We made quite a bit more that we had originally hoped, so thank you to all who were involved. Please see the announcement tab to the right for any upcoming events and information.

New Year's Eve Lock-in
Sing Sing Sing......

Tim leading worship (yes that is a broncos hat.....)

Matress surfing!
We had a great time at the youth lockin. Most of us made it through the night by drinking a whole lot of mountain dew and eating endless amounts of candy. We had a great worship time with the band. Matress surfing and communist church were just a few of the games that we played. We had a ton of fun and can't wait for the next one!
Just to be clear, in the communitst church game the leaders are communists and the students are Christians. A flashlight is hidden somewhere in the building and the students/Christians must find the light without being seen or tagged by the leaders/communists. When the students are tagged they are thrown out of the building. There is only one way back into the building, which is changed several times during the game, making it very hard to re-enter the building. It's a great way to teach the group about how Christians in other countires live. This game has become a favorite the past few lockins.

State Youth Convention

State Youth Convention was so much fun! We were busy busy busy. Friday night we checked into our hotel and went to the first session, Identitiy Crisis: My faith. On Saturday morning we had our second session, Identity Crisis: My Family. Then the youth and leaders split up into groups for two sessions. We came together again for our third session on Identity Crisis: My finances, where we learned to be good stewards of God's money. Saturday night we went to Austin Park, which is kind of like Mountaina, only better. Austin Park had bumper boats, race cars, mini golf, batting cages, laser tag, all kinds of free video games and a pizza buffet. Sunday morning we had our final session on Identity Crisis: My future. Then we said our goodbyes and headed to the capital building before heading to Houston.
